Une nouvelle \u00e9tude novatrice de l&rsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.utoronto.ca\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Universit\u00e9 de Toronto<\/a> r\u00e9v\u00e8le que les cultures de travail qui mettent l&rsquo;accent sur la <strong>s\u00e9curit\u00e9 psychologique<\/strong> et le soutien peuvent consid\u00e9rablement am\u00e9liorer les r\u00e9sultats pour les employ\u00e9s qui choisissent de divulguer leurs probl\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9 mentale.<\/p>\n<p>La recherche, dirig\u00e9e par la Dre Samantha Winters du D\u00e9partement de psychologie organisationnelle de l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 de Toronto, a sond\u00e9 plus de 1 200 travailleurs en Ontario et en Colombie-Britannique. Elle a constat\u00e9 que les employ\u00e9s qui ont divulgu\u00e9 des probl\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9 mentale dans des environnements de soutien ont rapport\u00e9 une satisfaction professionnelle sup\u00e9rieure de <strong>32 %<\/strong> et des intentions de d\u00e9part inf\u00e9rieures de <strong>27 %<\/strong> par rapport \u00e0 ceux qui sont rest\u00e9s silencieux.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Ce que nous observons remet en question la sagesse conventionnelle selon laquelle garder priv\u00e9es ses difficult\u00e9s de sant\u00e9 mentale au travail est le choix le plus s\u00fbr,\u00a0\u00bb explique la Dre Winters. \u00ab\u00a0Lorsque les milieux de travail cr\u00e9ent une v\u00e9ritable s\u00e9curit\u00e9 psychologique, l&rsquo;acte de divulgation devient th\u00e9rapeutique plut\u00f4t que risqu\u00e9.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;\u00e9tude a identifi\u00e9 des facteurs organisationnels sp\u00e9cifiques qui d\u00e9terminent si la divulgation entra\u00eene des r\u00e9sultats positifs ou n\u00e9gatifs. Les entreprises disposant de politiques claires d&rsquo;accommodement en mati\u00e8re de sant\u00e9 mentale, d&rsquo;une formation r\u00e9guli\u00e8re des gestionnaires sur le soutien en sant\u00e9 mentale et d&rsquo;un engagement visible de la direction ont montr\u00e9 les r\u00e9sultats positifs les plus marqu\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>Au <a href=\"https:\/\/www.groupeassuancemaritime.ca\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Groupe d&rsquo;assurance Maritime<\/a> \u00e0 Halifax, les politiques de divulgation ont transform\u00e9 la culture organisationnelle. \u00ab\u00a0Il y a trois ans, je n&rsquo;aurais jamais mentionn\u00e9 mon trouble d&rsquo;anxi\u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e0 qui que ce soit au travail,\u00a0\u00bb confie Martine Doucet, sp\u00e9cialiste des r\u00e9clamations. \u00ab\u00a0Aujourd&rsquo;hui, mon \u00e9quipe comprend mon besoin occasionnel d&rsquo;horaires flexibles pendant les p\u00e9riodes difficiles, et ma productivit\u00e9 s&rsquo;est en fait am\u00e9lior\u00e9e.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>La stigmatisation de la sant\u00e9 mentale demeure un obstacle important dans les milieux de travail canadiens. L&rsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/cmha.ca\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Association canadienne pour la sant\u00e9 mentale<\/a> rapporte que <strong>64 %<\/strong> des travailleurs ontariens s&rsquo;inqui\u00e9teraient de la r\u00e9action de leurs coll\u00e8gues s&rsquo;ils discutaient d&rsquo;un diagnostic de sant\u00e9 mentale au travail. Les implications financi\u00e8res sont consid\u00e9rables, les probl\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9 mentale en milieu de travail co\u00fbtant environ <strong>50 milliards de dollars<\/strong> par ann\u00e9e \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9conomie canadienne selon la <a href=\"https:\/\/commissionsantementale.ca\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Commission de la sant\u00e9 mentale du Canada<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;\u00e9tude a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 des contrastes frappants entre les environnements favorables et d\u00e9favorables.
